St Lucy, your faith was unbreakable, even under the harshest persecution. Your virtue of charity shone upon others and you did not refuse to give to the poor, even though it led to your martyrdom. You did not bow before idols. Pray for us that we too may love like you loved the littlest of this world, and pray that we may have the strength to never bow to the idols that we encounter in our lives today.

St Lucy of Syracuse, pray for us!

Saint Simon was often called “the Zealot.” A zealot is a person who is strongly committed to something. In St. Simon’s case, he firmly believed in the importance of people following Jewish law. Saint Jude was also known as “Jude Thaddeus.” This formal title was used so that he was not confused with Judas, the apostle who betrayed Jesus and handed him over to be arrested. St. Jude is the patron saint of hopeless cases and desperate situations.

Saints Simon and Jude, we ask for your intercession in heaven as members of the Twelve Apostles. Approach the Lord Jesus with our needs in your hands. Answer the prayers we present. Fulfill the petitions we seek. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Prayer

Written by Pope St John Paul II for Peace in the World

To the Creator of nature and man, of truth and beauty, I pray:

Hear my voice, for it is the voice of the victims of all wars and violence among individuals and nations.
Hear my voice, for it is the voice of all children who suffer and will suffer when people put their faith in weapons and war.
Hear my voice when I beg You to instill into the hearts of all human beings the wisdom of peace, the strength of justice, and the joy of fellowship.
Hear my voice, for I speak for the multitudes in every country and in every period of history who do not want war and are ready to walk the road of peace.
Hear my voice and grant insight and strength so that we may always respond to hatred with love, to injustice with total dedication to justice, to need with the sharing of self, to war with peace.

O God, hear my voice and grant unto the world Your everlasting peace.

Amen. 🙏🏻🙏🏻😇😇

In Catholic tradition, the entire month of October is dedicated to the Holy Rosary.

Pope Saint Pius V implored the faithful throughout Europe to pray the rosary, and himself led a rosary procession in the Eternal City, for Christian triumph. He instituted the “Feast of Our Lady of Victory,” later changed to “Feast of the Holy Rosary” and finally “Feast of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary.” Pope Leo XIII added the title “Queen of the Most Holy Rosary” to the Litany of Loreto in honour of Mary’s powerful intercession through the rosary.

Our Lady of the Rosary, we implore your intercession day in and day out, in the morning and in the evening, because we love to say your name and you love to hear us invoke you. You defeated vast armies seeking to destroy the Church. Help us to conquer our sins.

Catholic Society is a community of people devoted to living a Christian life and supporting each other to grow in faith and virtue. We meet once a week through our virtual events like praying the rosary, games and Christian talks.

We would love to share the joy of living a Catholic life with our members. We can't wait to meet you! :)

We pray you may have a blessed start of term!

Remember in times of worry, trouble and distress to always fix your eyes on our Lord. Ask for our Lady's intercession as well as that of the community of saints.

Heaven is cheering us on to do God's work!

Let's pray a Hail Mary for one another today!

St Faustina, you were not afraid to follow the Lord wherever He called you and to proclaim His Mercy. Pray the Lord might grant us endurance in suffering, love for our neighbour and the strength to withstand any hardship so that it may be offered for the redemption of great sinners and the dying. We pray for your intercession and for the strength to be more merciful today than we were yesterday and to be more tomorrow still.
St Faustina, Apostle of Mercy, pray for us!
