The Access Diploma in Combined Studies is a University of Ulster validated qualification which prepares students for Higher education, especially those who left school without the usual qualifications, such as A Levels. Many Access students go on to succeed at university and beyond, with a large number pursuing new careers and seeing changes in their lives that they never thought possible. If you

feel that you did not achieve your potential at school and have always wanted the chance to return to education then this is the course for you! Entry Requirements
There are no specific entry requirements. You must be 19 years of age or over and have left education for 2 years or more. You need to attend an interview and complete a short test in numeracy and literacy. Progression
On successful completion of the course you will be in a position to apply for a place at university in a range of subject areas. These include Social Work, Teaching, Law, Nursing, Computing, Business, Youth Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy etc. The qualification can also be helpful when seeking employment. The first year of the access course provides students with the equivalent of GCSE Maths and English.
