Get your very own Brompton bike!

Students, staff, family and friends have the opportunity to bid on the University owned Brompton bikes to have as their very own.

The key bits:

Each Brompton has a minimum bid of £500
You can bid on a maximum of two bicycles, but can only purchase one bicycle
You must complete the bidding form by Wednesday 30th September, 23:55
Winning bidders will be notified within 5 working days of the bidding window closing
All bicycles are second-hand and are sold in their current condition. Prospective bidders are encouraged to inspect the bicycles before submitting a bid. The University has not carried out a full service or assessment of each bicycle and does not provide any guarantee regarding its condition. Any faults known to the University will be disclosed. Following purchase and collection, the buyer will be responsible for any servicing, maintenance or repairs required.
There’s also one folding bike from Halfords that is available to be bid on (starting bid £50).

Where’s the money raised going?

All funds raised through the auction will be spent on student activities delivered through the Sustainability or the ResLife Teams.

How it works:

The auction will be silent, which means you won’t know what other people have bid and you can only bid one amount per bike in the hopes of being the successful highest bidder.

How to make your bid:

View all the bicycles to determine which one(s) you’d like to bid on.
Decide how much you would like to pay for your chosen bicycle(s).
Complete the bidding form before the 23:55, on Wednesday 30th September

Wait to see if you win
You’ll be sent a link to make payment for the bicycle, and asked to complete a form to say that you accept the terms and conditions of purchasing the bicycle.
Collect the bicycle, and enjoy the summer cycling!

Bicycle Viewing Days
Pop along to take a look at each of the bicycles to see which you'd like to bid on.

After a short hiatus to clean up the area, we're happy to report that the hedgehog habitat has returned to the sports bridge flyover!

We've spotted signs of hedgehog life in the area, and hope that they enjoy their cosy new home.

We also spotted, what we think is, an Aloe Vera plant that someone kindly planted in the area.

Your waste in numbers!

We're excited to announce that in the last 12 months we've seen a drop in the amount of waste produced per student, and an increase in how much waste is being recycled, which shows we're being more mindful about what we buy and what we repurpose.

Have you been going wild this month?

We have lots of green spaces on campus and some beautiful parks within Lincoln to explore.

Keep your eyes peeled for opportunities this month to go 'wild with nature' on campus.

You can visit Boultham Park and Hartsholme Park pages to sign up for some of their activities happening this month.

Additionally, you can try the iBiodiversity web-based app to learn about the plants and wildlife, and share what you've found whilst going wild:
