We had a fantastic private view last night — a really great turnout and a beautifully curated show with some excellent work and a lovely overall atmosphere. If you missed it, don’t worry — the exhibition is now open for the next two weekends.
It runs Fridays and Saturdays, 12–4pm, and is definitely worth a visit. It was also great to meet members of LAX in person.

Wicked Money Await is a group exhibition of LAX members exploring the potential of artist-led activity to challenge traditional structures of art production.
At a time when our membership is split more or less equally between Leeds and London, it feels timely to examine problematic notions of ‘centre’ and ‘periphery’ within a visual arts context, and to celebrate collectives, studios, and artist-led spaces as de-centring sites of exchange. The artists in Wicked Money Await carry layered histories, experiences, interests, and expertise, which they excavate and map through their diverse practices. Where people and practices meet, they affect change in one another. To acknowledge ourselves as nodes in translocal networks is to return agency to the artist, outside of the systems and markets that can sometimes seem to contain them.
This exhibition marks the first time LAX has shown work collectively in a place located roughly halfway between Leeds and London. In combination with General Practice’s track record of supporting exchange with other artist-led initiatives, this feels like a fitting opportunity to acknowledge the mutually constitutive nature of our relationships and our work. In a very real sense, we make each other.
