Congratulations Cynthia! πŸ‘πŸ€©πŸ‘ We're so excited to welcome you and all of your new classmates in September πŸŽ“πŸ˜ƒπŸ’™

Cynthia, Access to Higher Education: Nursing & Midwifery student, is taking the next step towards her dream career. πŸŽ“

Cynthia chose to study with us because of our friendly atmosphere, great reputation, and convenient location close to home. During her time on the course, she has enjoyed making new friends and has benefited from the supportive teaching staff and positive learning environment.

In September, Cynthia will be progressing to Liverpool John Moores University to study Adult Nursing. She is excited for the opportunities ahead and can't wait to see where her journey takes her next.

When asked if she would recommend the course to others, Cynthia said: "I'd definitely recommend it! I've learnt so much, met new people, and gained the qualification I needed to progress to university. It's been a great experience."

We are incredibly proud of Cynthia and all she has achieved, and we look forward to seeing her continue to succeed in the future. ✨

Could this be you? Applications for our Access to HE courses starting this September are STILL open and we are enrolling NOW!

Research focus: Study finds medical help for ex-Services 'fragmented'

Researchers from LJMU have contributed to a new study which recommends that former military personnel should not be excluded from mental health services due to their alcohol consumption, and that both alcohol and mental health issues are connected and should be treated together.

The research project, funded with Β£148,000 by the Forces in Mind Trust, was led by Dr Laura Goodwin from Lancaster University and Dr Patsy Irizar from Liverpool John Moores University with colleagues from Lancaster, King’s College London and the University of Cardiff.

Dr Irizar said: β€œMany former service personnel with co-occurring alcohol and mental health problems delay seeking help, which can cause problems to worsen. The recommendations from our research suggest a need for increased visibility of services, so veterans know where to access support, and for national campaigns which aim to reduce stigma and encourage help seeking.”
