Established in 2015/2016, we deliver a contemporary and cutting edge curriculum with employability at the heart of what we do. It is reported that over the past 5 years, the business of sport in the UK has become a £20 billion-a-year industry, supporting approximately 450,000 jobs. In addition to this, "The UK sector [sports marketing and consultancy] is growing strongly: currently valued at an estimated £500‐750m, it is forecast to surpass £1bn in revenue by 2022" (Ardi Kolah, 2013 for a report commissioned by the Department for Business Innovation and Skills)

❤️ We are so proud of our Chris, Matty, Brad and the top dog himself, our Programme Leader Tom, who completed the Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) Challenge last Saturday, raising over £2500 for Claire House Childrens Hospice

🥇The team completed a ⛰15km hike, 🚴‍♂️15km cycle and a 🛶3km kayak all to raise money for the brilliant work that Claire House Childrens Hospice do.

🏆 Well done to everyone who took part, and especially to our team - what an effort!!! 🥇

🙌 Last year, the crown was taken by one of our alumni, Tristan McCabe, who scooped the £50 voucher prize....but will he retain the title? 🤷‍♀️

😃The league is open to all- current students, graduates, family, friends, other programmes, departments - if you want to join - please do!

💪We had a record number of teams in last season - let's get more involved, makes the winning even better!

🎓What a day we had yesterday, celebrating our Class of 2026 - you did it! 🎉🎉🥳🥳

🎉We loved seeing you all walk the stage and become graduates of Sport Business, and we hope you and your family and friends had the best time!

👏You should all be super proud of what you have achieved during your time with us (we are!)- you have set yourselves up in a really strong position to absolutley smash the next steps in your journey.

🙌Whilst your time studying with us has ended, you are always part of the Sport Business programme, so if you ever need a bit of advice, job help or just a chat.....you know where we are!

The biggest thank you EVER to our Cooky, alice x who did her last Open Day today with us 😢. Cooky will be graduating in July and over her time with us, she has been an absolutley top tier, elite level advocate of the Sport Business degree, Liverpool Business School and Liverpool John Moores University 🏆👏

Not only has Alice smashed her degree, she has been a fantastic Outreach Assistant and has recently won the Unitemps Liverpool John Moores University Student Ambassador of the year.

In addition to this....she has also successfully entered the banter arena on Open and Applicant Days and given as much as she got.....what a legend! 🤣🤣🏆🏆.

Thank you for everything, good luck with the future (you will be awesome!!!!) and....... we appreciate you!!!!! 🙏

Back from a brilliant couple of days at the Young Adults and Graduate Fair in the Isle of Man.

We took a group of Level 6 students from a variety of programmes across to the event and they got the chance to network with the Isle of Man's leading employers and to discover what opportunities there are for graduate employment.

✅️ Showcasing LBS as the place to study! 🥳

😃 I-Club invites ALL Sport Business students to a special guest speaker session for the I-Club, featuring Leigh Pomlett, taking place on Thursday, 26th March at 3pm in room JF/111a.

⚽️Leigh Pomlett will be sharing his remarkable career journey and extensive experience as the Chairman of the Board at Walsall Football Club. From an employer’s perspective, he will also discuss the specific skills and qualities he looks for in graduates entering the industry today.

🚀"DATA POWERING SPORT"🚀 - what a way to kick off our Future of the Sport Business module with our Level 6's yesterday!

🙌We were delighted to welcome back Ben Mackriell, Head of Intelligence at PMY (Europe, Middle East and Africa) to come and deliver a superb guest session on all things data, AI, sports analytics and how it is changing the sporting landscape.

🤓We love cutting edge, and this was exactly that.....Ben set the assessment task to ensure it is bang up to date, and he discussed a number of topics including:

🏟Venue and crowd intelligence

🤖AI and machine learning - sports evolving and driving the conversation with AI

☁️Cloud services and solutions

🏆Performance, commercial (fan engagement, sponsorship) and venue operations

🙅‍♀️"Data isn't tables, it's dynamic"

So much fantastic insights to take in and feed into the first real-world assessment task that we are starting to work on!

Loads of fantastic questions and interactions from the group.....as Ben said, always be curious, stick your hand up and ask the questions.....top advice! 👏

🥳 What....a....Semester 1! Together, we've packed in so much and it has literally flown by - time for a bit of a break, ready to go again in January!

🙏We hope you all enjoy a well‑deserved, fun‑filled break—whatever you’ve got planned! Take good care of yourselves and make sure you find some time to rest and recharge. Semester 2 will be here soon!💪

🏢The university and most student services will close at 5pm on Tuesday 23 December 2025 and reopen on Monday 5th January 2026. The Student Life Building will be the only generally accessible building during this time.

🎄The Student Life Building will remain open 24/7 over the winter break, including Christmas Day, and security will be based at reception.

🔑Security can always be contacted via the phone number on the back of your student ID cards (0151 231 2222) or via the SafeZone App.

👋Although support services are suspended for the winter break, the Student Life Building will be open throughout the period, and Staff from Student Life and Wellbeing will be available between 10am and 4pm on:
