Amazing! Celebrate your success, enjoy the moment and take that next step towards the future you want.

πŸ’› Didn't get the results you were hoping for?

πŸ‘‰ Career Insight Day - Friday July 3rd

πŸ‘‰ Sony Interactive Entertainment

πŸ‘‰ We were delighted to welcome Ian and Ste last week to deliver an amazing session of industry insights to our ICT students.

πŸ‘‰ In their capacity as trainers in the Cert Ops division of Sony in Liverpool, they talked about the structure of Sony and what happens in the Liverpool office in terms of game testing and the skills required to do that job.

πŸ‘‰ They also talked about routes into the gaming industry and the multitude of human-centric job roles available: producer, voice actor, composer, motion capture artist, concept artist, writer, hardware engineer, localisation specialist, audio engineer, etc.

πŸ‘‰ We particularly enjoyed hearing what young people can do to get into the right mind and skillset for the gaming industry, from taking part in game jams to building board games, from sharing their ideas and animations in online forums to upgrading their hardware to a single-board computer (Β£30 - Raspberry Pi) and building a game.

πŸ™ Massive thanks to Ian and Ste for being so generous with their time and for Liverpool City Region Careers Hub for having the foresight to create the programme several years ago.

πŸ‘‰ Time to celebrate! πŸ†

πŸ‘‰ Last week was all about celebrating the achievements of our supported interns and reflecting on the massive distance they have travelled since starting the programme last year.

πŸ‘‰ It was also about thanking and recognising the tireless commitment and support of our amazing tutors, job coaches, employers, mentors and partners. Without them, this pathway to employment would not be possible.

29/06/2026

πŸ‘‰Being a supported intern isn't all about work, work, work. They also have fun and explore our vibrant city from time to time.

πŸ‘‰Last week, our tutor Kim took the interns out on the famous Mersey Ferries to experience the beautiful skyline and three graces from afar.

πŸ‘‰It was also a chance for our interns to have a break and reflect on their amazing achievements this year.

πŸ‘‰ Last week marked a proud and historic moment for Liverpool as Lord Mayor Cllr William Shortall was sworn in at Liverpool Town Hall on Wednesday 13 May.

πŸ‘‰ As the first wheelchair user to serve as Lord Mayor in the city’s 816-year history, Cllr Shortall’s appointment highlights a changing Liverpool and the importance of inclusion, accessibility and representation.

πŸ‘‰ Following his historic inauguration, the Lord Mayor visited Greenbank to look around and meet learners and users from both Greenbank College and GGreenbank Sports Academy He was welcomed by Mary Beaumont, Chief Executive, and Tracey Murphy, Chair of Trustees.

πŸ‘‰ The pictures show the Lord Mayor meeting learners and users from across Greenbank College and Greenbank Sports Academy during his visit.

Cllr Shortall is a proud Liverpudlian who has worked in public service for many years and has consistently spoken up for better access for disabled people, including through the Corporate Access Forum. He also served as a trustee at Greenbank for over six years.

πŸ™ We are especially proud that the Lord Mayor has chosen GGreenbank Charityas his charity for the year. Through Greenbank College and Greenbank Sports Academy, Greenbank particularly supports disabled people to build skills, confidence, physical activity, movement, independence and opportunity.

πŸ‘‰ Mary Beaumont and Tracey Murphy will also sit on the Lord Mayor’s Charity Group, supporting activity throughout the year.

πŸ‘‰ The Lady Mayoress, Marie, will support the Lord Mayor during the year, with their daughters, Melissa and Laura, also helping as consorts.

πŸ‘‰ Over the year ahead, the Lord Mayor’s role will help shine a light on people and organisations working to make Liverpool more accessible, inclusive and welcoming for everyone.
