Gioventù cannibale is a landmark anthology of extreme-horror short stories, first published by Einaudi in 1996. The role of the university in Europe: past, present and future; the role of European university alliances as key actors for the future; what is the specific contribution of the European universities? The value of freedom. The value of diversity and pluralism.
The defence and promotion of pluralism can be illustrated through the case of the Catalan language, which offers an example of both challenges and responses. Although Catalan is not an official language of the European Union, it is not a burden but rather an asset in the university context. It is the university’s own language and is used across all areas of academic life.
Points to bear in mind for context and reference: the centenary of the first international lectureship in Catalan, established precisely at the University of Liverpool. The first lecturer was Ferran Soldevila.

Behind this achievement lies the important work of the Institut Ramon Llull.
