What is the Exhibition?

Nocturnal Activities is an exhibition featuring club flyers from the height of London's nightlife scene in the 1980's and the 1990's. The flyers show the creativity and borderline copyright infringement that helped to flourish the underground scene during those decades.

These flyers are part of the Ted Polhemus Street Style collection from the Special Collections and Archives at
Liverpool John Moores University.
When researching for his first book
Street Style, Polhemus collected many items from LP Vinyls, the flyers. magazines, and many books.

The vast collection in the Polhemus archive is varied over a time span of around three decades. These flyers have not been seen or displayed until now and this is an opportunity to see these before they retire back to the archives
