😊 Tell us a little about yourself.
I studied French and Spanish for my undergraduate and did a Masters in Linguistics. I have lived and studied in Spain (Seville and Barcelona) before moving to the UK to study a Masters. Alongside my current role, I'm completing an Apprenticeship in Leadership and I am a co-chair for Kaplan Women. I have a passion for supporting students to develop their academic and English language skills. I enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds and learning about their cultures and experiences.
⭐ Why did you choose to work at UOLIC?
I moved to Liverpool with my now husband, who was already working here. I was also keen to teach English within a further and higher education environment, making UOLIC the perfect fit for me.
✨ What do you enjoy most about working with our students?
I enjoy learning about our students' different cultures and backgrounds. I also love seeing students try their best and grow in confidence, as well as develop their skills, throughout their course.
🏆 What is your proudest achievement or favourite memory at the College?
One of my favourite memories is our International Activity Day, where students shared their food, music, cultures, and traditions. It was a fantastic event that brought everyone together and celebrated our diverse community.
💫 What advice would you give to international students?
Plan your self-study time, ask questions when you're unsure, and immerse yourself in the local culture. Attend all your classes, make the most of your learning opportunities, and remember to enjoy yourself and build friendships along the way.
🎉 What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I enjoy playing tennis, singing, spending time with my family, camping, catching up with friends, dancing, travelling, drinking coffee, eating cake and going hiking.
