Ciao! 🤗

Join us today for the film screening of "Ennio", by Giuseppe Tornatore.

The screening will be held in Teaching Room 4 in the 502 Central Teaching Hub at 6pm, and will be introduced by Dr Marco Paoli, Senior Lecturer in Italian Film Studies.

Oscar-winning director Giuseppe Tornatore pays tribute to his friend and collaborator Ennio Morricone, retracing the composer's life and work, from his debut with Sergio Leone to his Academy Award in 2016. The documentary features interviews with renowned directors and musicians, recordings from Morricone's acclaimed world tours, and clips from the iconic films he set to music.

This is a free event with no need to register.

We hope to see many of you tonight!

A presto,

The Italian Team

Ciao! 🤗

The Italian Team at Liverpool would like to invite you all to the events organised as part of the Week of the Italian Language in the World in Liverpool, now in its 26th edition!

The Week of the Italian Language in the World is held each autumn under the patronage of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and brings together a global network of cultural institutions, universities, schools and associations.

In Liverpool, the University's Department of Languages, Cultures and Film hosts the Week with a programme of talks, performances, concerts and screenings — created for 2026 together with the Società Dante Alighieri (Liverpool Branch), the Italian Book Club, the Mammamia association and the historic Athenaeum Club of Liverpool.

You can find further information in the poster attached, as well as on this university webpage (https://www.liverpool.ac.uk/languages-cultures-and-film/events/italian-week-2026/), where you can also find all the links to register for the events.

We hope that you will use this opportunity to experience and learn more about Italian culture, as well as to have a lovely time with your friends and family!
