“Get vaccinated against Meningitis B”

That’s the message from the family and friends of LJMU student Aaron Mills, who sadly died from MenB earlier this year.

Over the weekend, family friend Shaun McEntee completed a five-day, 100-mile fundraising challenge from Kidderminster to Anfield in Aaron's memory, joined by LJMU students, staff and supporters for the final stage in Liverpool.

Together, they're helping raise awareness of the MenB vaccine which is now available for free to young people aged 17 and 18 and those under 25 starting university for the first time.

Remember, Meningitis B can become life-threatening within hours. Knowing the signs and symptoms could save a life. Symptoms can include a high temperature (fever), severe headache, stiff neck, vomiting, sensitivity to light, confusion, extreme sleepiness, cold hands and feet, muscle and joint pain, and a rash that does not fade under pressure.
