📅In May, it was 40 years since we were joined by Leonard Bernstein for a Guildhall School production of Mass in 1986!

As it's Volunteers' Week, this got us thinking about the incredible contributions we've had from our alumni and beyond over the years, from masterclasses to mentorships and much more. 🙌

🎥Recently, we came across this short documentary from 1969, which presents a background to the construction of the Barbican Estate and looks forward to its various offerings, including, of course, a new building for Guildhall School.

We’ve been really loving hearing your memories from Silk Street's opening and beyond – and if you’ve managed to hold on to any bits and pieces from your time at the School, we’d love you to share these too by leaving a comment or message!

📰 At the time of the opening of Guildhall School’s site at Silk Street, there was excitement over many elements of the architecture, design and technical offerings of the building; not least the retractable and rearrangeable seating of its new theatre. 🎭
