Roehampton University Students
Welcome to Whitelands College
Travel Sunday: 20 September 2026

You are most warmly welcomed to Whitelands College, a higher
education institution since 1841, and your home for the coming year.
Today the college is providing a free lunch for all new students and
their families, available from the college canteen from 12pm to 3pm.
The canteen is on the ground floor, in the far right hand corner of the
building as you enter into reception.

And then at 5:30pm today we have a welcome talk for all new
students, taking place in the William Morris lecture theatre, which is
opposite the canteen. You can assemble at 5:15pm in the reception
area and we will walk through with you, or see you in the lecture
theatre.
And finally... pizza. We are providing free pizza and soft drinks at 7pm,
after the welcome talk ends. This will be served in the Sett cafe, which
is directly above the canteen, on the first floor.
Do please follow our Instagram account for further updates and
activities at the college over the coming year:

And a final note of welcome: we are also hosting a free barbecue on
Friday 25 September round the back of the building on the lawns, with
a mini Freshers Fair, all in partnership with the Students’ Union. Food
will be served from 12pm to 2:30pm

We would like to congratulate our President, Abbigail on her recent achievements over the past few months! 💚✨

From representing the student voice across the University, to receiving awards and recognition for her leadership, dedication, and hard work, Abbigail has consistently gone above and beyond for the Whitelands community.

We are incredibly grateful for everything she has done for Whitelands and across the wider University. Your passion, commitment, and leadership inspire so many around you.

Well done, Abbigail! This recognition is truly deserved! 🌟👏

The annual premium Whitelands College celebration and crowning of the May Monarch

It is with great pleasure that we are opening invitations to students to attend the 146th Whitelands College May Day Celebrations on Saturday 9th May 2026 at Whitelands College, Holy Trinity Church.

The service will take place in Holy Trinity Church, graciously provided by the Revd Joshua Rey, followed by a meal and refreshments gathering in the Kings Head just 5 minutes’ walk from the church. Then we conclude with a blessing service followed by tea back at the college itself, a 5-minute walk from the King’s Head.

The Service will begin at 11.00 a.m. The programme for the day will follow its traditional course, for which you will receive a timetable for on the day.

The election of Queen Hannas’s successor took place during the month of March where our 146th Monarch was elected.
