Our Avurudu celebration was more than an event.
It was a powerful reminder of home, culture, and togetherness.
From vibrant colors to traditional sweets, every detail reflected the true spirit of Sinhala and Tamil New Year.
The energy in the room said everything.
Members showed up with pride.
People connected through tradition.
People celebrated as one community.
→ Culture stays strong when people come together
→ Traditions live on through shared moments
→ Community creates a sense of belonging anywhere in the world
The University of Westminster Sri Lankan Society brought this vision to life.
Every performance, every ritual, every smile added meaning to the celebration.
Gratitude to everyone who contributed.
From organizers to performers to attendees, each person played a role in making this unforgettable.
A special appreciation to the team and artistic director Ms for a performance that truly energized the audience.
This is how culture is preserved.
This is how community grows.
Wishing everyone a joyful and prosperous Sinhala and Tamil New Year.
May the year ahead bring growth, happiness, and new beginnings.
Thank you to the wonderful committee with the Nimaya, Dinali and Dinidhi for your continuous support which made the event more memorable.
We couldn't do this without the incredible support of Ayen Feliciano and her colleagues at
Here’s to preserving our culture, sharing our joy, and celebrating as one Sri Lankan family at the University of Westminster❤️🇱🇰
