Welcome back to a new academic year and you may have noticed that we have had a slight revamp!

Previously known as SHLA, we have rebranded to Healthcare Entrepreuneurs, Leaders & Innovators (HELI) which better suits what we do. You can expect to see a lot more of us, hosting a number of exciting events ranging from crash courses to masterclasses from industry experts and pioneers in healthcare.

We can't wait to meet you at Freshers Fair and at our events throughout the year!

Time's running out to apply for this year's Nada Anzak Champion for Change Essay Competition!

Title: "To what extent is the NHS able to deliver 7 day services?"
Word count: 500 words max (excl refs)
Deadline: Midnight 31st May 2016

Entries open to all and must be submitted to [email protected] to be eligible for consideration. Late submissions will not be assessed.
Assessor's include senior faculty from KHP and Deans from the KCL Medical & Dental institutes.

1st place - £100 (+ consideration for peer-review publication)
2nd place - £50
3rd place - £25

Certificates and prizes to be presented to winners at the KHP Safety Connections Conference 2016 in June.

Those who attended previous sessions of our Leadership & Management workshop will agree that it was particularly beneficial made even better by our fantastic speaker, Andrea McNeil, who was not only engaging but incredibly relatable and gave us helpful tips in goal setting.

Today, we are very lucky to have Dr Jackie Brown joining us where she will talk us through the steps and challenges of conducting clinical audits. This promises to be a fantastic talk and we hope you will leave feeling much more confident about the scary world of audits!

We are very pleased to announce that the SHLA will be running a three part Leadership & Management workshop through February and March.

We are very lucky to have two fantastic leaders joining us for the event! Andrea McNeil, a successful business leadership coach who has won a number of awards for her book on ‘Business Meltdown’. She also runs a number of workshops in various areas of business management.

Part 3 by Dr Jackie Brown, Clinical Audit Lead and Senior Lecturer in the KCL Dental Institute and consultant in Oral & Maxillofacial Radiology. She is also Director of a training program in Dental & Maxillofacial Radiology.

Price for the whole workshop series: £5
There are only 50 spaces available for the workshops so be sure to sign up fast by emailing [email protected] with your name, course and year, to book your place.
