Proclamation Trust Since 1986, The Proclamation Trust has existed to encourage ministry that seeks above all to teach the Bible as God's Word relevant for today.

To this end we seek both to equip and to encourage Bible teachers.

We’ve missed Carrie in the office 🥲, but we’re thrilled that she’s been in Uganda, helping equip women to faithfully teach God’s word beyond the UK.

Carrie was the main speaker at the Living Word Uganda: Women in Ministry conference, where she helped delegates understand 1 Samuel so they can teach it faithfully to others.

We pray that the women were encouraged and equipped by the conference, and we can’t wait to welcome Carrie back to the office 😄

Would you like to get to grips with the book of Exodus?

Come and join us for our online teaching morning. Even better, invite women from your church, friends or family to join you!

Exodus is chapter two of the Pentateuch story. In Genesis, humanity is alienated from God because of sin. Against this bleak backdrop, God makes astonishing promises to Abraham: to make his family great, to bring them to his place and to restore to them (and through them to the nations) the blessing of right relationship with God. By the end of Genesis, though, that family is far away from Canaan and down in Egypt.

Exodus is where we see how God fulfills those promises. He multiplies Abraham's family into a nation and rescues them from Egypt — but the real heart of the book is relationship. God reveals himself through dramatic acts of rescue so that his people, and the watching world, would know he is the faithful and powerful Lord. He binds himself to Israel in covenant. He comes to dwell among them in the tabernacle on their way to the promised land.

And yet, again and again, Israel responds with unbelief. It's a pattern that casts a long shadow over the rest of the Pentateuch — and sets up the need for something more: a new exodus, a new covenant, a people with hearts finally able to love and obey. Exodus is the model, the warm-up act, pointing forward to the greater rescue found in Jesus.

What we'll cover

The day is split into four sessions:

Session 1 & 4— Take a closer look at two key passages (Exodus 15 & 24)

Session 2 — Think about the message of the whole Pentateuch and how Exodus sits within the whole five-book story

Session 3 — Digging into what Exodus is actually about, and how the book works as a whole.
