Student Investment Partner, The Creator Fund
Creator Fund is an early stage venture capital fund pioneering a new model. We hire and train student investors and then give them a cheque book to invest in their peers. Our student investors gain first-hand experience of sourcing and leading their own deals. This is based of the highly successful Dorm Room Fund model in the United States, and we are the first fund to launch this across Europe.
Our strategy is based on building partnerships between our investments, strategic partners & global mentor network as early as possible in their investment cycle in order to accelerate growth, establish product market fit faster and add strategic value across the portfolio. Initial pre-seed investments of £30,000 will be made into the highest potential student startups across Europe. Follow on capital is also available.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary responsibilities for student investors will be sourcing new investment opportunities, researching markets & sector trends, evaluating deals and conducting detailed due diligence. We are seeking students with a strong interest in investing, intellectual curiosity, flexibility and a demonstrated hustle & initiative. Every member of our team is expected to have incredible drive to assist in the investment process from end to end.
You will be expected to actively sourcing deals on campus from among your peers & you are also invited to participate in our weekly investor meeting (held on Sunday at 6PM). The role is pro-bono, however, all costs & expenses will be covered. We have a world-class network of VC & founder mentors, and will train and prepare our student investors for careers in VC.
Candidates can be either final year undergraduate, Masters, MBA or PhD level - if you have a passion for early stage technology, startups and venture investment we want to hear from you!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Sourcing deal flow
● Reviewing investment opportunities & contributing to the diligence process
● Meeting entrepreneurs on your campus and beyond, and deciding whether to put them
forward for further interviews.
● Attending a weekly investment meeting where every voice has equal weight
● Helping promote the fund on campus.
● Making investment decisions.
