How do people become trapped by systems that are meant to protect them?

Join Professor Sonja Ayeb-Karlsson's inaugural lecture as she explores the links between climate change, migration, family violence, lawfare and intersectional justice.

Through the idea of an "architecture of entrapment", this talk examines how environmental breakdown, legal systems and structural inequalities can restrict people's ability to move, seek safety and access justice.

What can you do with a Global Humanitarian Studies degree?

Whilst studying at UCL, Oliver Lei completed an internship with the Red Cross Society of China and went on to a Master's degree at the University of Hong Kong.

His studies helped him develop research skills and understand how culture, society and governance shape humanitarian challenges.
