What are some things that make vocational ministry so uniquely challenging?
Recent decades have seen an escalation of ministry leaders, who expected to minister for a lifetime, leaving the ministry altogether. What changed from previous generations? What kinds of things can we do now to help us lead healthier, fruitful ministries for a lifetime?
Join us at Oak Hill College in February to learn from Dr Tasha Chapman (Associate Teacher on our MA in Contemporary Christian Leadership).
🎟 Link in bio or visit our website to get your ticket - just £35 inc. lunch and a free book.
She will share some intriguing research findings about self-care, spiritual formation, and leadership that begin to answer these questions. And she will lead us in some exercises towards healthy habits that can sustain us in ministry.
Her material comes from over seven years of research on pastoral sustainability conducted by the Center for Ministry Leadership at Covenant Theological Seminary in the USA. The initial research findings were published by IVP in 2013: Resilient Ministry: What Pastors Told Us About Surviving and Thriving by Bob Burns, Tasha D. Chapman and Donald C. Guthrie.
Due to the nature of this event, it is being run in-person only at Oak Hill College, London.
