We are delighted to welcome Professor Jason Hallett as Imperial College London's new Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering! 🥳

Professor Hallett officially takes up the role today (1 October 2026), bringing a wealth of experience in sustainable chemical technology, and a strong track record of translating research into real-world impact.

He is succeeding Professor Omar Matar, who begins his tenure as Dean of the Faculty of Imperial Engineering.

Delighted to share that Imperial College London's Department of Chemical Engineering has been ranked first in the UK by The Times Good University Guide 2027.

A brilliant achievement, and one built over many years through the ambition, dedication, and hard work of our staff and students.
