Aims

-Create and develop a network of students interested and passionate about research and academic medicine.
-Provide relevant information on all aspects of medical research and academic medicine.
-Raise the profile of the academic medicine career pathway.
-Promote student research participation throughout all years of medical school.
-Create an environment in which students can learn from each

other and share resources. The above aims will be achieved via the following means:

-Establish a mentoring system between medical students and academic professionals.
-Create a notice board of potential research opportunities
-Provide the means by which students can apply for projects at external institutions.
-Host regular events covering relevant topics in research and academic medicine.
-Host an annual national research conference.

This talk is relevant for those doing a summer research project and BMB students for their final year lab based projects!
