We were delighted to welcome the renowned Sudanese-British entrepreneur, political activist and philanthropist Sir Mo Ibrahim to Goodenough College earlier this week for an inspiring lunch discussion with some of our African Members.

Founder of the Mo Ibrahim Foundation, Sir Mo shared insights on leadership, governance and creating positive change across Africa, prompting a lively exchange of ideas and perspectives.

We are delighted to announce that Goodenough College has once again been awarded Best Specialist Housing (UK & Ireland) title at the GSL Awards 2026.
As the GSL Awards are based entirely on direct student feedback, this recognition is especially meaningful to us.

Goodenough College Registrar, Caroline Persaud, recently collected the award on behalf of the College at the GSL Awards ceremony. Commenting on the award, she said:
“At Goodenough College, we are committed to providing outstanding postgraduate student accommodation, alongside opportunities for personal and professional growth, and a supportive environment where our Members can thrive.

We’re delighted to be part of Bloomsbury Festival 2026, celebrating the creativity, culture and community that make Bloomsbury such a special place.
🗓️On 24 October 🎶✨, we look forward to welcoming visitors to our historic Great Hall for a concert by the Goodensemble Orchestra, featuring the musical talents of the Goodenough College community.
In A Grand Serenade to Music, orchestra members, singers and soloists from across the globe come together in an emotionally charged programme of works, weaving a series of golden threads for audiences to follow in their own way.
Expect the unexpected. Expect to be challenged. Expect to be moved.

Third Orchestra featuring renowned sound artist Jason Singh and the grace and poetry of vocalist Namvula Rennie’s West African lineage, the music will journey across continents as it cross-crosses the elegant dining hall of Goodenough College. Jason’s sounds are drawn from beatboxing to natural landscapes, and he mixes them live across 16 channels. The cutting edge 360° spatial audio technology is linked to a research project the orchestra has been part of at Kings College, London, led by Professor Zoran Cvetkovic

As is tradition, Members, Alumni and Fellows came together on 5 October to honour the vision and generosity of Goodenough College's Founders and Benefactors.
A key moment of this year's ceremony was the appointment of Janet Legrand OBE KC (Hon) as the President of Goodenough College and Chair of the Board of Trustees. We were also delighted to announce a distinguished group of new College Fellows across our Faculties.

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Janet Legrand OBE KC (Hon) as the new President of Goodenough College and Chair of the Board of Trustees.

Janet brings extensive leadership, governance and higher education experience. Formerly Senior Partner and Global Co-Chair of DLA Piper, she was appointed Queen's Counsel Honoris Causa in 2018 in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the legal profession.

She currently serves as Chair of the RNLI, is a Board Member of Advance HE, and sits on the advisory panel of IntoUniversity. Her previous governance roles include positions at the University of Edinburgh, City, University of London, and the University of Cambridge.

A former Chair of The Children's Society, Janet was awarded an OBE in 2023 for services to young people.

We are honoured to welcome Janet and look forward to her leadership as Goodenough College continues to support and connect outstanding postgraduate students from around the world.

Yesterday, we celebrated the official opening of our newly renovated student accommodation with The Lady Mayor of the City of London, the Right Honorable Alderwoman Dame Susan Langley, alongside trustees, students, donors, alumni, staff, College partners, and project collaborators.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this vision a reality. Here's to welcoming future generations of students to their new home!

As we celebrate the official opening of Goodenough College’s newly renovated student housing today, we are honoured to share a message from our Patron, His Majesty King Charles III:

“Please convey my warmest thanks to all at Goodenough College for their loyal greetings, sent on the occasion of the Opening of your Refurbished Accommodation at Mecklenburgh Square, which is being hosted today by the Lady Mayor of the City of London.
"As your Patron, I much appreciate your message of loyal greetings, and was heartened to be reminded of your long-standing commitment to supporting academics from across the world to foster international understanding and entertain new ideas and values.
