At Riverston School, we are always keen to share opportunities and resources that may be of interest to our students and families.

Enable's Learning Disability Weight Management Programme is celebrating its first year during Learning Disability Awareness Week, and families are invited to attend this special community event.

The event will include:
🎉 Celebrating one year of the programme
💬 Information about the fantastic work taking place across Bexley, Bromley and Royal Greenwich

🤝 Opportunities to connect with local services and community organisations

🎨✨ Year 9 Art: Exploring the Human Form ✨🎨

Our Year 9 students have been studying the fascinating topic of the human form in Art, taking inspiration from the renowned sculptor Alberto Giacometti.

Known for his distinctive elongated figures, Giacometti's work encouraged students to think about proportion, movement and how the human body can be represented in different artistic styles. Through observation, discussion and practical activities, students have been exploring how artists use shape, texture and form to convey emotion and meaning.

This project has provided a fantastic opportunity for our young people to develop their creativity, critical thinking and artistic techniques while learning about one of the most influential artists of the 20th century.

We are incredibly proud of the focus, imagination and enthusiasm our students have shown throughout this topic and look forward to sharing some of their amazing work with you soon!

💙 Support for Parents & Carers of Children with Autism and Social Communication Differences 💙

At Riverston School, we are pleased to share an upcoming online parent and carer support session hosted by Bromley SEND Matters and the Bromley All-age Autism Partnership.

This month's discussion will focus on Masking in Autism and will explore:

🔹 Masking in boys
🔹 Masking in girls
🔹 The effects of continued masking
🔹 Sharing experiences and learning from other parents and carers

💻 Online Session
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Open to parents and carers of children with social communication differences and autism. A diagnosis is not required to attend.

This is a valuable opportunity to connect with other families, share experiences and contribute to positive changes for Bromley's autistic community. Any experiences shared (with permission) will be fed back to the Bromley All-age Autism Partnership to help shape future support and services.

⚽💙 Opportunity for Young Footballers! 💙⚽

At Riverston School, we are always keen to share inclusive opportunities that support our young people to stay active, build confidence and have fun.

Girls United are offering a Pan-Disability Football Club for girls aged 5–11 years, providing a welcoming and supportive environment where every player can enjoy football, develop new skills and make friends.

💇‍♀️✨ Introducing Our New Hair & Beauty Enrichment Club! ✨💇‍♀️

We're excited to share a glimpse into one of our newest enrichment opportunities at Riverston School – Hair & Beauty Club!

Students have been developing practical hair styling skills, learning different braiding techniques, sectioning methods and how to use professional tools safely and effectively. Throughout the sessions, students are building confidence, creativity, patience and fine motor skills while exploring a potential vocational pathway in a fun and supportive environment.

Take a look at some of the fantastic work from our recent session! 📸 From mastering plaits and braids to practising styling techniques on training heads, our students have shown incredible focus, determination and enthusiasm.

At Riverston School, enrichment activities provide valuable opportunities for students to discover new interests, develop life skills and build independence beyond the classroom.

💙 Support Group for Young People and Adults with Autism 💙

At Riverston School, we are pleased to share information about an upcoming Inclusive Autism Support Group for young people and adults.

This welcoming online session provides a safe space to connect with others, share experiences and explore topics relating to autism and personal identity. A formal diagnosis is not required to attend.

This session will focus on Exploring Masking and includes discussion around:
