Meet the MetFilm School graduate working behind the scenes on Saturday Night Live UK.

We recently caught up with Jemma Clarke-Gilgeous, a BA Hair & Make-Up for Screen & Film graduate who studied at our Brighton campus, and is now building experience across TV, film, and theatre.

Jemma is currently working as a Wigs, Hair & Makeup Trainee on Saturday Night Live UK, gaining hands-on experience within the industry.

From Manchester to San Marino!

The graduates behind Safe Space, a MetFilm School Manchester student short film, took us along for the journey as the film had its international premiere at San Marino International Arts Festival 2026.

We’re excited to announce that our BA (Hons) Filmmaking degree is coming to Leeds for the first time in 2027. 🎉

Already established across our other campuses, the degree combines creative storytelling with hands-on production experience, helping aspiring filmmakers develop their creative voice, build practical skills and prepare for careers in the screen industries.

And Leeds is the perfect place to bring it. Based at Prime Studios, you’ll study in a working production environment at the heart of a city with a growing screen sector and a wider Yorkshire region rich in film and television. 🎬

Huge congratulations to MetFilm School Manchester student Izzi Ramsden, whose documentary Drift: The Story of Tessa Whittock has been nominated for Best Student Film at the International Motor Film Awards! 🏆

The short documentary follows stunt driver Tessa Whittock, exploring her journey from starting out in the industry to running her own business and driving for Mission: Impossible.

Izzi, who is studying BA Filmmaking, specialising in cinematography, made the documentary last year as part of her documentary module, working alongside a team of fellow MetFilm School students.

The International Motor Film Awards is the world’s premier automotive film festival, celebrating the art and creativity of the automotive industry. Drift will screen on 14 November at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, alongside films from across the automotive filmmaking world.

A fantastic achievement for Izzi and the whole team. We’ll be cheering you on! 🏁

We’re excited to announce that MetFilm School Leeds graduate Indigo Kamal-Poole has joined the cast of Channel 4’s Hollyoaks! 🎬

Indigo Kamal-Poole, who graduated from our BA (Hons) Acting for Screen course, made his debut last week as newcomer Xander.

Speaking about his experience on the show, Indigo said:

“Hollyoaks has been an incredible experience for me. I feel so fortunate to be working professionally in acting only a year after I graduated from MetFilm. I’ve learnt so much from my colleagues and the demands of a TV set. Sometimes I need to pinch myself when I’m working alongside such talented and well-accredited actors. It’s been a weird adjustment and I had to, and still do, get over my nerves. Overall it’s been an amazing time and I can’t wait for you all to see more!”

We’re so proud to see Indigo taking on this exciting new role and look forward to seeing more of Xander on screen. 👏

Safe Space selected for Aesthetica Film Festival! 🚀

Huge congratulations to the graduates behind Safe Space, a MetFilm School Manchester student short film selected for Aesthetica Short Film Festival 2026.

Aesthetica is a BAFTA and BIFA-qualifying festival and one of the UK’s largest events in the screen industries.

The selection adds to an impressive festival run, including a Rising Star Award for writer/director Matthew Eyre at Manchester Film Festival, an International Premiere at San Marino International Arts Festival, selection for the BFI Young Programmers’ Film Festival, and a Best Drama nomination at the RTS North West Student Awards.

Safe Space follows a young girl who journeys to the Moon in her homemade rocket, exploring its surface alongside her hero.

Congratulations to the entire Safe Space team on this fantastic achievement! 🎉

What can you learn from a prosthetic & makeup FX artist who has worked on Saving Private Ryan, The Mummy, Shaun of the Dead, Stardust and Game of Thrones? 🎨

We sat down with prosthetic makeup artist Stuart Bray during his visit to MetFilm School Brighton to hear his industry advice on working in prosthetics and makeup effects.

Stuart also spent time with our BA (Hons) Hair and Makeup for Screen and Film lecturers, taking them through a digital prosthetics workflow using our new Revopoint MIRACO scanner and Phrozen Sonic Mega 8K S printer.

The session covered 3D scanning, working with digital models in ZBrush, and preparing and printing physical forms for prosthetic work.
