Speech Bubble

Speech Bubble Speech Bubble: Featuring the performing talents of students, locals and professional mentally-muscled pencil-pushers in a night of oral entertainment!

Our very first event was released into the wild one unsuspecting Monday evening in December 2011. It all began with some rather splendid performances from home grown Loughborough students, followed by a magnificent open-mic medley, as audience members sampled the stage (which was delicious, by the way!). The vocal shenanigans continued (until later than is really reasonable for a Monday evening) a

nd up next were performances from the terrific Lydia Towsey (www.secretagentartist.wordpress.com) and the rollickingly good Rob Gee (www.robgee.co.uk), who closed the show. The next Speech Bubble landed in March. This time we had performances from the delightful David Parkin and the marvelous Mark Gwynne Jones, who went down a storm with the Loughborough locals and students alike. The next Speech Bubble was in May, and provided some spectacular summer spoken word. New term - New team (Speech Bubble Co-ordinators, Sophie Hyde and Charlie Staunton) bring you 2014-15's events:

Monday 1st December 2014, 7.30pm. Monday 2nd March 2015, 7.30pm.

Creating a poll on a page is apparently too difficult for us so we're using surveymonkey for the stash poll.
Sorry for the confusion we are equally confused.

Please take the survey titled "Stash". Your feedback is important!

Greetings from your NEW COORDINATORS 2016/17
We hope you’re enjoying your holidays; we’re busy planning away for next year bubble events, including WORKSHOPS with professional poets! Watch this space for more updates as we approach the first event in December!
We also thought it would be nice to introduce ourselves so you know what we look like, feel free to add or message us if you have any questions!
Your first Coordinator is Lizzie Fedorowycz
Hello! I'm an English finalist EEP, and I warmed to SB straight away as a bare faced fresher when I watched the performances- since then I've performed every time and been to the SB workshops which have been fab- think it's a lovely way to get people out of their shell, and I luv 2 bust dem sick rhymes
And working with her will be Harriet Rose Brophy
Hi guys! I’m a second year psychology student. I fell in love with SB instantly; performing was the highlight of my first year at Lboro, and I loved listening to everyone’s different styles and stories. I love slam poetry, pizza and generally being a keeno. Hopefully you might see me around next year repping fellow disabled women in Lboros Women’s Network.
We both have some great ideas for next year, and are super excited to show you what we’ve been planning. Any feedback regarding the aspects from past SBS you’ve liked and the aspects you’d like to see improved would be incredibly welcomed.
We look forward to seeing you all next year and hearing more of your work!
WE ARE ALSO CONSIDERING STASH FOR THIS YEARS SBUBBLES. PLEASE LET US KNOW BY THE POLL IF THIS IS SOMETHING YOU’D BE INTERESTED IN. THIS IS NOT A COMMITMENT, JUST GIVING US AN IDEA OF INTEREST.
