Hello everyone! Hope that you all had a fabulous bank holiday weekend whatever you got up to.

Just a quick reminder that there is only a few weeks until our conference and memorial event in memory of Bill Overton, and it's not too late to get involved!

If you would like to attend the conference being held on the 18th September, please email [email protected] for more details, including how to register.

If, however, you are more interested in attending the alumni event being held on the afternoon of the 19th September, just email [email protected] to let us know that you will be coming! As a gesture, we do ask that those attending the alumni event contribute £5.

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on the 18th and 19th!

Hi everybody! Hope you are all having a lovely weekend. I realise that a lot of you will have seen us advertising this event already, but I thought that now might be a good time to send out a little reminder seeing as we are now in the throws of the summer vacation!

The Department of English and Drama will be holding a conference on eighteenth-century verse in Professor Bill Overton's memory on the 18-19 September 2013. Bill, who was Professor of Literary Studies and worked in the Department for 36 years, died in early September last year after a period of illness. If you would like to attend the conference, please email [email protected] for more details, including how to register.

On the afternoon of the second day of the conference there will be an alumni gathering to celebrate Bill's life at Loughborough. The event will also see the launch of the new Bill Overton Poetry Prize. Details of the event on the afternoon of the 19 September will be sent to you if you email [email protected]. If you would like to attend the alumni event, we do ask that you make a contribution of £5 towards the afternoon.

All past students, colleagues, and friends of Bill's are very welcome to attend!

If you have any other queries or questions, please either send an email to [email protected], or contact me (Jenna Townend) directly at [email protected] and I will pass them onto the organisers.

We look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible!

- welcome to our new Alumni page!
We are really excited to have this page up and running, so that we can keep all of you up to date with news from the Department, as well as letting you know about any forthcoming alumni events over the coming year.
Please take 2 minutes to invite any of your other alumni friends to the 'Like' the page so that we can really get it up and running!
More information will be added to the page over the coming weekend, so please excuse the fact that it is a little sparse at the moment!
