❓ Not ready to commit to studying for 3 years at degree level? ❓

At B&FC you can study for one, two or three years and get a qualification at every stage...

You can:
👉 commit to just one year at a time
👉 take a break at the end of any year
👉 go into employment and come back when you're ready
👉 simply continue with your studies by signing up to the next year

This week is a chance to celebrate the wonderful wildlife found in the seas around the UK, and our relationship with this incredible habitat that surrounds us.

Our L4 students headed out to Fleetwood Sand Dunes for their induction today! 🌞🌊

They set a transect, placed their quadrats down, and went about IDing the species in the area. We were super impressed with their skills today and are looking forward to more sunny field trips!

Can you imagine 😱 At least with our marine biology degree you'll be well informed about the biology and behaviour of these marine mammals!

Enrolment is still open for 2022 September start! Come down to our University Campus next week, every day 11-7pm or to Bispham this week 11-7pm (Please note: Friday's are 11-4pm) and have a chat with one of our tutors about what careers our Marine Biology can lead you to!

It's not too late to enrol on to our Marine Biology degree here at B&FC!

First semester for first year is Monday & Tuesday - meaning you can have a healthy work/life balance!

We offer workshops, one to one support, guest lectures, practical lab work, field trips and experience with packages such as R and QGIS to ensure you have all the skills you need for employment when you graduate!

So come on down to the Bispham Campus this week between 10am and 7pm to have a chat and enrol! We are also offering enrolment throughout September if you need time to think it over!

Update on the big swim adventure Storm was a part of!

Unfortunately, the challenge was cut short early Friday morning after Adam's first 4hours swimming. The weather looked set to be perfect, and it was! Until it wasn't... It changed within minutes and soon the swell was up to 4-5. The upper safety limit for all involved was 3-4 and the crew made the call to stop all activity. This was heartbreaking for everyone, but safety of all on board was priority. It was too dangerous for Adam and his kayakers to be on the water, and far too unsafe to work on deck for Storm. By the time the boat headed back to shore, swell was at a 6! So the right call was made.

She did manage to take a couple of samples, so they will be tested for numerous things in the upcoming week. Fingers crossed this adventure will resume next year and the weather will be kinder! She did manage to take some pictures before the weather turned though!

Adam and the team wish to thank everyone for their support - stayed tuned as this adventure isn't over yet...
