“Nothing can heal while it’s kept hidden in the dark.”
I met her at Chalice Well in Glastonbury. I took my shoes off, stood with her, and felt such love, safety and care, before I knew anything about her story.
She was lovingly carved by Indian temple sculptor, but her design was based on a statue by a father who should have protected his daughters, and didn’t. In 2024 she was taken away, until more than 4,000 people asked for her to come home.
To me she isn’t a tribute to the man behind her design. She’s a temple, holding twenty years of prayers, flowers and love. And I believe all of it flows to his daughters, and to every woman and child who wasn’t kept safe.
If you’re one of them, I’m holding you in my heart today. You don’t have to carry it alone, or in the dark. Reach for your safe person, or for one of these:

Be gentle with yourself. Hand on heart, one slow breath.
There is light in the world my love.
