Big news from our Chamber Music department!

We're delighted to announce the ensembles and artists joining our chamber music pathways for 2026/27.

We’re thrilled that Novo Quartet will return in September as Ensemble in Association and look forward to another year of coaching, collaborative projects, and side-by-side performances.

We're also excited to welcome our new Junior Fellows in Chamber Music: Trio Havisham and Amarins Wierdsma.

And introducing our RNCM String Quartet Studio groups for 2026/27: Talland Quartet, Voluta Quartet, Agogo Quartet, and Osian Ensemble

Over the coming year, they'll benefit from facilities, coaching, and a performance calendar designed to develop their repertoire, artistic identity, and concert experience.

The RNCM String Quartet Studio is generously supported by the Albert and Eugenie Frost Music Trust.

We're delighted to welcome six new appointments to the Schools of Vocal Studies and Opera and Keyboard Studies.

Joining us are acclaimed sopranos Amanda Roocroft and Anna Devin as Professors of Voice, Anne Le Bozec and Joseph Middleton as International Visiting Professors of Piano (Collaborative), Lieder specialist Richard Stokes as Guest Tutor in Vocal Studies and Opera, and German pianist Uta Weyand as International Visiting Professor in Keyboard Studies.

'These world-renowned artists bring a wealth of international experience in the professional world and are all highly skilled teachers who underline our commitment to creating opportunities for our students to work with the highest calibre musicians. The addition of Anne and Joseph also affirms our commitment to cross-School collaboration, providing students with the opportunity to work across genre and instrument.'

Congratulations, Junior RNCM Class of 2026!
We recently celebrated our graduating Juniors at their Leavers’ Ceremony. Having had the joy of spending every Saturday of term with them, we couldn’t be more proud of all they have achieved during their time with us. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for each and every one of them.

A number of students will be starting their undergraduate studies here at the RNCM this September, while many others have secured places at fellow conservatoires and universities. We wish them every success as they take the next exciting step in their musical journeys.

Looking back on one of the final performances of our Summer Term. 🎷

The RNCM Big Band were joined by one of the most exciting voices on the contemporary jazz scene, Zoe Rahman. Working side-by-side with our student musicians, Zoe led an evening of her own compositions and arrangements. We also heard original music from RNCM students Iona Gray and Conor Parker-Delves. An inspiring evening of collaboration, and a brilliant way to close the year for many of our students.

A spectacular evening at The Bridgewater Hall with performances from the RNCM Symphony Orchestra and Symphony Chorus.

Featuring Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6, the world premiere of a new work by Emily Dunbar, and a captivating performance from Concerto Competition winner Liana Storey, the concert was a true highlight of our Summer season and a fantastic end to our open day.

We were delighted to welcome guest conductor Clemens Schuldt to lead the orchestra alongside conducting student Jasper Lecon, while Stuart Overington led the Symphony Chorus in their pre-concert performance.
