The University of Manchester Careers Service The Careers Service is for all students and recent graduates of the University of Manchester and helps them make the move from University to employment.

The University of Manchester Careers Service aims to improve the employability of its students and also recent graduates. This is done by enhancing their skills, organising tailored events and giving expert advice. We understand that while at university, your career probably isn’t at the top of your priorities, especially for first and second years! This is why we organise events that give you the

opportunity to meet with employers and find out for yourself what skills you need to have in order to get a job after university. There are many things you can do while here in Manchester that will boost your chances of getting a job and have fun too! Have you thought about volunteering, joining a society or getting work-experience? Our expert careers consultants are trained to give you advice and can let you know what jobs are out there, whether related to your subject or not. We can also talk you through your CV to make sure you are doing yourself justice on it and help you stand out to future employers. Adopt a job search strategy that works for you. This could look like making a spreadsheet to keep track of applications, writing CV and cover letter templates to adapt for each role, and tailoring your LinkedIn algorithm so it recommends the jobs you really want 🕺
