The plan for tonight is to have dinner at the Spicy Mint on the Curry Mile, before moving on to Sandbar afterwards. I´ll be at the Ford Maddox Brown from about ten to seven for anyone who fancies getting a drink beforehand, or for any new people who may wish to join, and then we'll move over to the curry place at about half-past seven. I'll post when we're en route to Sandbar.

We´re looking into the idea of joining up with a bunch of other people around Manchester at the end of exams to do a party bus down to Chester for some drinks, then onto Liverpool for a gig in the evening. As a rough idea of how many people would be interested, like or leave a comment below if you'd be up for it. ;)

We've been informed that The Old Monkey's upstairs area will be unavailable this week, and as such, this leaves us with some room to do something else before heading over to Sandbar or another pub.

It has been suggested that we could do a meal prior to the meetup, but obviously with such short notice, we'd need to know how many people would be interested in it first. Venue would most likely be the Spicy Hut on the Curry mile from about 7:30 - 8:00pm on Thursday the 25th of Feb, with pricing in the region of around £10 - £15 including drinks.

Post if you'd be interested, and if there's a few people up for it, I'll get a table booked.

The Star and Garter is a 212 year old Grade 2 listed building adjacent to Piccadilly Station. It has operated as a live music venue, nightclub, film set and exhibition/conference venue since 1990. In 2016 it will have to close for the Northern Hub Project, so the owners are being forced to sell.

Headlined by Scottish Power Metal standouts Ascension, and featuring a variety of outstanding bands from the UK and Europe, the Ragnaröck All Dayer seeks to bring an unrivalled array of talent to the stage, followed by its brand new monthly classic metal club night, which had the pleasure of opening on October the 9th to an outstanding crowd.

Remember, we'll be meeting tonight at Fab Cafe from 7 to screen a Halloween film before heading over to The Old Monkey as usual ;) If you've not made it to an event yet and want to check it out, tonight should be a good opportunity to showcase the society, and as always, you're more than welcome to turn up :) There are two film options, a classic, and a new one (which even I've not seen), so it's your call as to what we watch - I'll ask the general consensus when we get there ;) The two films I have with me are Dracula (the Bela Lugosi one) and Theatre of Fear, if anyone wants to bring anything else down, you're more than welcome to ;) See you at 7 :D

Positions for the new general committee will be announced on Halloween! We've had a brilliant level of interest this year, and if you're interested in applying and haven't done so yet, there's still time :) Just send me a message containing a sentence or two about why you ant to be on the committee and what you think you can bring to it.

A brief overview of some of the roles of the General Committee:
- Help govern the direction of the society by presenting and carrying out new ideas.
- Have an input in deciding society events and how they are run, in particular determining the location of the city trip next year.
- Play a crucial role in ensuring a wider representation of society members within the committee.
- Direct society events as they are occurring, and assist in planning during the preparation stage.

We are pleased to announce our second Ragnaröck event, and it's gonna be a big one! We've assembled 11 brilliant bands from across the UK (and even one from Portugal) to turn our second club night into an all day festival :D

11 bands, 15 hours of solid metal, and all for just seven quid if you buy in advance, or a tenner on the door otherwise! We'll also be running the club night after the bands (a bit later this time to fit it all in) starting at midnight and running until 3am, so if you can't make the day, we're offering entry after 12 for £3 ;)
