June 2026 marks a year for the Lost & Found in Translation (L&FIT) – a collaborative network founded by Dr Ruth Abou Rached, Lecturer in Arabic Cultural Studies.

L&FIT brings together researchers whose work involves qualitative interviews conducted across diverse languages, settings and disciplines.

In the coming weeks, we'll be sharing a series of films created by SALC students on the theme of imposter syndrome.

The series showcases a creative set of filmmakers exploring diverse student experiences of imposter syndrome and the broader impostor phenomenon. Through short film storytelling, these student films engage with themes of mental health, self-confidence, and self-doubt, offering creative perspectives on understanding and overcoming imposter syndrome.

'Stepping Stones to Growth' by Chen Wei is a thoughtful film that captures a key part of impostor phenomenon – that impostorism can emerge from success, particularly through self-doubt, negative inner narration and the tendency to minimise one’s own achievements as “just luck”, even while celebrating the achievements of others.

🍎 “Tasting Children’s Literature: An Edible Read-A-Thon” is an immersive experience and read-a-thon of classic and contemporary children’s literature aimed at young children up to the age of 8.
