A great time measuring gas emissions from the recent Icelandic eruption using some of our new drones and gas sensors, including a very exciting new VTOL. All in pursuit of understanding geochemistry and dynamics for improved prediction. Unfortunately, we missed the eruption proper by a couple of days but still sampled the cooling flow and vent. Thanks to our expert colleagues in engineering (Dr Kieran Wood), Prof Grant Allen (DEES) and Grant's PhD student, Jamie Mcquilkin. And to PI Prof Mike Burton whose project facilitated the adventure. Thanks also to our colleagues at the university of Iceland and university of Cambridge for facilitating this work with advice, access, and sensors.

You have just ONE WEEK LEFT to apply to volunteer with the ExposureBee Research Project!

Take this opportunity to discover your personal exposure to tiny, toxic airborne particles called PM2.5 in your daily life.

For more information on how to volunteer with us, see the post below.

Welcome to the ExposureBee Project, a study run by The University of Manchester and the Health and Safety Executive.

The ExposureBee Project is looking to recruit up to twenty (20) enthusiastic volunteers, all of whom will use the latest technology to investigate their daily exposures to PM2.5 — tiny airborne particles that are hazardous to human health. By discovering when, where and how you are exposed to PM2.5, the ExposureBee Project hopes to realise the power of the citizen scientist in Greater Manchester’s continued fight against air pollution.

Are you interested in volunteering with the ExposureBee Project? If so, visit us at the following link: https://www.exposurebee.org.uk/apply.

For more information on volunteering with the ExposureBee Project, read:
