Tomorrow Cymru | Wales celebrates Love with Santes Dwynwen ❤️ 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

We hope this post explains the rich tapestry of Welsh culture and honour Santes Dwynwen, the patron saint of lovers in Wales, on her special day, January 25th!

Wales boasts a vibrant culture steeped in myths, music, and poetry. Known for its rugged landscapes and majestic castles, Welsh culture is deeply intertwined with the Welsh language, one of Europe’s oldest languages still spoken today.

Dwynwen lived during the 5th century and is celebrated for her tale of unrequited love. After a tragic love story, she founded a convent on Llanddwyn Island, where the remains of her church can still be visited.

Every January 25th, Wales lights up with love as people exchange cards and gifts, celebrating their affection not only for partners but also for family and friends. It’s a day that rivals Valentine’s Day, filled with local traditions and heartfelt sentiments.

Experience the magic of Welsh culture firsthand. From breathtaking hikes in Snowdonia to exploring the poetic ruins of Tintern Abbey, Wales offers a unique blend of natural beauty and historical wonder.

Join us in celebrating love and Welsh culture today! To our International students and alumni we would love to see your stories and experiences with .🌹📚
