Cain Smith-Shiels graduated during the recently concluded congregations with a degree in law.

Over the past four years, Cain has met like-minded people, challenged himself and gained experiences that pushed him outside of his comfort zone.

His time at Northumbria, including a challenging placement with Citizens Advice, helped him grow in confidence, adapt to unfamiliar situations and better understand what he wants to do next.

It's easy to think of congregations as an ending. For Cain and the rest of the Class of 2026, it's closer to a starting point, one they'll spend the next few years building on.

Graduation is one moment, but it took years of encouragement, patience, and showing up to get here. This is a small thank you to everyone who never stopped believing in this year's graduates.
