Students recently travelled to Dublin for a trip themed around entrepreneurship and innovation.

๐ŸŒŸ The first visit was to the Guinness Enterprise Centre where students heard from the founders of UrbanFox and HaloSOS, who spoke about their personal journeys working in start-ups and scale-ups.

๐ŸŒŸ The group then visited the Guinness Storehouse to see how the iconic Guinness marketing has evolved through the years, as well as incredible views of the city.

๐ŸŒŸ Students also visited the LinkedIn EMEA HQ where alumna Dimitra Vappa and colleague Bahaa AlKayyali gave valuable advice on using LinkedIn and the value of employee networks.

๐ŸŒŸ The trip also featured an alumni networking dinner where our students were able to connect with graduates living in Dublin.

Thank you to everyone involved for hosting us and taking the time to speak with our students. Read more here: https://www.ncl.ac.uk/business/news-events/news-items/2024/dublin-visit-linkedin-and-gec/

The British Council have launched their first ever scholarships for postgraduate study at Newcastle University Business School.

These scholarships for women based in Hong Kong have been created to raise awareness of the challenges of the gender gap in the Higher Education sector in the country.

To celebrate the launch, the British Council held an inspiring forum featuring guest speakers including Dr Cristina Neesham, Associate Dean Ethics, Responsibility and Sustainability. We caught up with Cristina to hear about the event and find out more about the new scholarships.

We were delighted to sponsor the Thinking Digital Bursary Programme for 2024.

10 Business School students attended the conference to discover new ideas and learn about the future of tech.

The conference, hosted at The Glasshouse International Centre for Music, was a great success with an excellent line up of guest speakers including a musical technologist and a trainee astronaut. The itinerary also included networking opportunities, workshops, and the chance to meet guest speakers.

With special thanks to Herb Kim and Thinking Digital Conference.
