What’s it like being a trainee?

This interactive webinar, hosted by will simulate the tasks you’ll face during a typical vacation scheme or assessment centre. It will require prioritising your workload and replying to emails, interviewing a witness and conducting legal research. You’ll even receive replies to your own emails, with some instant feedback from your supervisor! No legal knowledge is required and it’s great fun!

present their ‘Speed Advocacy Competition’ taking place on Thursday 1st February 2024, with a dedicated training session on Friday 26th January 2024, 12-2:30pm!

This competition will centre around a witness examination scenario, offering an invaluable opportunity to hone your advocacy skills. The venues for both events are as follows:

Competition Location: Newcastle University Campus, Armstrong building
Training Location: University of Law building, G22

Participating in this event is not only a chance to showcase your abilities but also a unique training ground where you will receive guidance specifically tailored for the competition format. The witness examination focus will provide hands-on experience, allowing you to refine your questioning techniques and courtroom demeanour.

Whether you are considering a career at the bar or not, this event is a fantastic addition to your CV.
