Matt Rugg: Connecting Form Exhibition
This #InternationalArtistDay we took a tour of the Connecting Form exhibition at the Hatton Gallery.
The exhibition curated by Harriet Sutcliffe celebrates the lifeโs work of Fine Art alumnus, Matt Rugg and runs until 13 January 2024 โ have you visited yet?
More than 80 sculptures, paintings and drawings are on display including pieces from Mattโs early days as a student and lecturer at Newcastle University, work bought by public collections, together with works made up until the year Matt passed away in 2020.

The centre is the vision of alumnus Sir Terry Farrell and aims to increase public engagement in the future of architecture and planning. It is admission free and combines a public gallery, research hub, and community space, offering a variety of experiences for visitors of all ages.
The inaugural exhibition, More with Less, came to a close at the weekend but there are plenty of other events to get involved with - keep your eyes peeled for the launch of the next exhibition!
