Thankyou so much for everyone that came to the NUCATS Gameathon this year. 24 hours of tournaments, board games and pizza would not have been the same had a single one of you not showed up.
The return of the Gameathon couldn’t have gone better. And whilst we anxiously await the final fundraised number know that we are so proud of everyone for taking part, fundraising on your own and generally having the best spirit we’ve ever seen. (Even when we thought we’d lost access to lab PCs 😂)
This year is definitely one for the NUCATS history books. Hope to see more of you all before the year ends.

Im Super exited to announce the Gamathon is returning this year after a 2 year gap (thanks covid :P)
This year we will be raising money for special effect, a charity that create custom equipment for disabled people to be able to use technology for gaming.
The 24 hours will include a tonne of tournaments (With small entry fees of no more than £2) all of which will have prizes up for grabs, the chance to use VR and beat out social sec <@!132628284662874113> at beatsaber and a massive prize of a NINTENDO SWITCH for the person who has raised the most money by the end of the event (You must attend the event to collect the prize).

This year we will be joined by the board gaming society who will be bringing their huge collection of games for us to get involved with. So bring your laptops and consoles, grab some mates and come join us.

Bar Crawl Route
We have got the final route for the bar crawl on Wednesday! We have a mix of everything: student vibes at Luthers, chill drinks at Wonderbar, cheap deals at Retro and PopWorld and to end it off we have a fun pub/club for the LGBT people in our society - Rusty's!
These are all the locations that we’ll be visiting:
7pm - Luthers
8pm - Wonderbar
9pm - Retro
10pm - PopWorld
11pm - Rusty’s
Just an fyi, the bar crawl will officially end at 11pm!!

Luthers - Singles from £2 / £2.20 (download the Round app to view all of their drinks and prices)
Wonderbar - 3 Trebles for £9, 3 x Skittles for £6, J Bomb for £1.50, K2 for £1.50, Stein of Cocktail for £6.50, Stein of Wonderbier or John Smiths or Strongbow for £6.50 bier
Retro - Single vodka mixer/wkd/corona and desperados for £1.50, double vodka and mixer for £2.75 + free fizz!

Rusty’s - Yet to confirm, we already have some good deals for the other bars and this is the last one for the night, so just dance and enjoy the night instead!

To make sure that everyone is safe, please stick with the main group (everyone will be wearing blue shirts for this social) or find a group of friends and look out for each other. In case you're worried about yourself or someone else, find a committee member, bar staff, or immediately call **999** in case of an emergency.
**Do not** drink any drinks that you have not seen poured, and **do not** leave your drinks unattended. You are also encouraged not to drink if that's your choice.
We've asked the venues about how they are addressing the recent news of drink spiking:
- Luthers’s: spikeys for bottles, drink lids
- WonderBar: increased security on lookout
- Retro: security searchers upon entry, designated support staff, foil drink lids, spik
Hi everyone!
We can now confirm that our first stop for the pub crawl next week on Wednesday will be Luthers and it will start at 7:00pm 🍻
The complete route will be released closer to the time but we are expecting to go to 4 other bars/clubs and be there for an hour at a time.
The theme for this bar crawl is the colour blue so make sure you wear something blue for Wednesday! 👕
Also, drinks are starting at £2 😍
