This week marked National SQP Week, highlighting the crucial difference SQPs (Suitably Qualified Persons) make caring for livestock and pets across the UK 🐾

Harper Adams trains professionals through our partnership with AMTRA (the Animal Medicines Training Regulatory Authority), offering a range of level four and five modules leading to the SQP qualification.

One person that has begun their journey towards becoming a Qualified Animal Medicines Advisor with us is SQP Trainee, Chloe Caldwell 🙌

Congratulations to Harper Adams University alumna Lauren McGee who's been shortlisted as Veterinary Nurse of the Year in the National Pet Awards !
Lauren, from Co. Tyrone, graduated from her degree in September and took up a role as nurse at Parklands Veterinary Group in Cookstown.
Her dedication to her work means that, less than twelve months after graduating, she is now one of nine people in the running to be named Northern Ireland’s Veterinary Nurse of the Year.

A consistent focus on the prospects of its students has ensured Harper Adams has remained the leading University for full-time UK undergraduate employment.

Graduate Outcomes figures track how many UK-based undergraduates who completed their studies in 2024 are in work or further study 15 months later.

The latest stats have just been released, with Harper Adams leading the sector for the proportion of those graduating from their first undergraduate degree in full-time employment and with the lowest proportion unemployed.

The team have landed at Cereals, hosted in a brand-new location this year at Diddly Squat Farm 🌽🚜

It’s already been a busy first day on the stand, with plenty of insightful conversations taking place - from meetings with MPs to discussions with fellow industry experts. Our own Professor Tom Pope has also been sharing his expertise on crop protection and pest management.
