Griff Davies to play for Welsh Schools Football Association Vs Australian Schools Football Association after completing a clean sweep with the Welsh Colleges team.

Griff will head to Aberystwyth this evening (16/01/25) with a 18:30KO at Park Avenue.

This games comes after Griff and his teammates won 3 from 3 in the Tri Nations competition Vs England Colleges, England Independent Schools and Australia Colleges. The results and minutes played were as follows:
Welsh colleges vs English colleges won 6-1 Played 30 minutes
Welsh colleges vs independent schools won 3-0 Played 45 minutes
Welsh colleges vs Australia schools won 2-1 Played 40 minutes.

Griff is currently in his 2nd Year Sports Course at Newtown college and said this about his experience so far: "I wouldn't have gone to the trials in the 1st place without the college nominating me, the football training most days has helped me physically and technically and helped me step up to international football. The Welsh Colleges games have made me sharper as they are so intense, the other players are really good lads and top quality players, it took us a game to really get to know eachother but we've really come together in this last game and performed well. The overnight stays were a great experience, it gave me an insight into professional football and being an elite athlete. I'm looking forward to the games with the Welsh Schools as there is a chance to go to Italy and play in the Roma Caput mundi Tournament.
