At our residential last weekend, there was a chance for those who will be ordained or licensed as a Reader/LLM to have their stole or scarf blessed as a sign of God's blessing on their future ministry:

Almighty and everlasting God
who by your servant Moses decreed
that the stewards of your mysteries be clothed with vestments
for the fulfilment of their ministry in your presence,
to the honour and glory of your name;
hear us as we pray
and so bless and sanctify these stoles and scarves
that they may be fit for your divine service.
Grant also that all those clothed in these stoles and scarves
be strengthened and defended in your service
and that by your grace they may wear them with reverence
and honour them by the holiness of their lives.
This we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

It was our final residential of the year this weekend, where we said goodbye to many of our students who will be ordained, licensed and authorised in the coming months. It was wonderful to commission them for their future ministry, as we gathered together in worship. Please do be praying for everyone who will be taking a new step in their ministry, as well those who are looking ahead to next year at college.
