Thursday 28th June 1984. Paris is in turmoil. The French football team have just been crowned European champions, Celebrations are in full swing. But at the same time, thousands have taken to the streets to
protest against Francois Mitterrand’s government’s new education bill. The streets are gridlocked, the mood is a heady cocktail of elation, indignation and anger. Meanwhile ‘Le Piano Bleu, a small restaurant on the left bank, prepares for a very important lunchtime sitting which could radically change the fortunes of the chefs and staff.
Major investors are coming to dine, everything must go perfectly. Unfortunately you can’t always choose your customers... Le piano Bleu is an original Sacré Théâtre production, which whilst exploring the trials and tribulations of the hospitality industry (well known at first hand to the first-time playwright), also addresses themes of privilege, ambition and loyalty, with side glances to politics, religion and a few previous productions. With original songs and our amazing regular musicians, an 80’s soundtrack and lots of twists, this play brings all the usual humour
and invention that Sacré Théâtre has provided over the years. Venez goûter!
