We’re looking forward to our next CRCF Lunchtime Seminar, taking place online tomorrow, Wednesday 29 April, at 1pm.

There’s still time to register—details below ⬇️

We hope you can join us.

Our second Spring CRCF Lunchtime Seminar is taking place on Wednesday 29th April and we are delighted to welcome Professor Lisa Wallander, from Lund University in Sweden for her presentation entitled:

Inside professional judgement: What vignette experiments reveal about knowledge use in social work

For over two decades, Professor Lisa Wallander has used vignette experiments (also known as factorial surveys) to investigate professional judgement in social work and related professions. This highly flexible method makes it possible to analyse which factors shape assessments and what kinds of domain knowledge practitioners draw upon in their decision‑making.

Beyond research, vignette experiments have also been applied in professional development and social work education, where they function as powerful tools for strengthening reasoning, reflection, and argumentation.

This presentation will include examples from empirical studies and demonstrate how these findings can be theorised and translated into practical and pedagogical applications.
