Studying can often feel overwhelming, especially for students managing multiple responsibilities. Over the past few weeks, I’ve made a conscious decision to prioritise my mental health to avoid becoming completely burnt out.

Alongside the new habits I’ve introduced into my routine, I’ve found particular comfort in the support that UEA offers its students, especially its mental health services. Each session leaves me feeling refreshed, motivated, and ready to continue.

Although studying remains my main purpose for being at UEA, I’ve also learned the importance of truly living and creating a healthy balance between academic responsibilities and personal wellbeing.

Dissertation season can be stressful, so I took a short break to check out UEA’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Day. There is a wide range of support available, from wellbeing workshops and talking therapies to mindful activities like colouring and origami. It was a great reminder that we should always look after our wellbeing!

Comment down below how do you take care of your wellbeing during busy study periods?

Take a breath. You deserve it.

Feeling overwhelmed? Tired from uni life? Sometimes, all we need is a little pause.

As students studying in the UEA, we found a place where we can slow down, recharge, and just be surrounded by art, calm, and inspiration.

Whether it’s a quiet corner, beautiful exhibitions, or simply a space to clear your mind; this is your reminder to take care of your mental health.

You’re not alone. And it’s okay to rest.

Come visit and experience it yourself. Taking a break is not a weakness – it’s self-care.
