For students in attendance at the University of East Anglia 1997-2001.

To celebrate 30 years since joining UEA…..

As our first reunion back on campus in June was what can only be described as a huge success, I’ve been asked to organise another one. A date for June/July 2027 is being looked into. I will keep you all posted on here.

If you’re up for coming again, or weren’t able to make it last time but want to join us in 2027, please feel free to put a comment below so everyone else can see who is interested. As soon as people know they’re not the only ones coming places fill fast!

I am liaising with the accommodation team and SU/Ents department to make the next reunion just as good, if not better than the first 😊

Before we left for home, some of us who had lived in the Village took a stroll back to where it all began. 28 years since we moved in when it was relatively new….we were the third cohort of students to stay there. It looked a bit tired but still mostly the same. Alan the van man was no longer parked in the centre in his ice cream van (selling just about everything a student could ever need…from actual ice cream to baked beans, beer and other illicit substances apparently! 🤭). E scooters took up space where the bikes once were….that would have been carnage on the way back from the LCR riding one of those. Lots of maintenance was going on ready to welcome the new students arriving in September 2025. Many fond memories of all the fun and fab times had there by us ‘Village people’. . Already planning the next campus reunion!

For those staying in the shared flats in Hickling House (the newest accommodation on main campus) you need to check in at Broadview Hotel. For those in double rooms you are staying in Broadview. Your booking confirmation will have this information on if you’re not sure. Parking is available in the main car park but you need to give you car registration details on arrival when checking in. Check in is from 3pm.

For anyone going into the city on Saturday the market is now home to lots of street food outlets that are apparently tasty and good value for money.

For beer and cider lovers and those who want a walk there’s the NR3 beer mile that starts in Magdalen St.

Mr Postles Apothecary is recommended for cocktails and small plates for those wanting to catch up and get a bit squiffy.
