Why confined spaces training matters.

When working in a confined space, having the right training can make a critical difference.
Employers need to ensure people are competent to carry out their roles safely, with an understanding of the hazards, procedures and controls involved.

Fast Lane Training Services provides specialist training and assessment for the highways, construction, and infrastructure sectors.

On 9 and 10 September, our team will deliver the City & Guilds 6160-09 Level 2 Award in Entrant and Entry Controller for Confined Spaces (Medium Risk).

The countdown is on until Team Norse takes on the Public Sector Challenge Earth, Mynd and Shire.

We caught up with Cat Walker, Quality & Compliance Co-ordinator at South West Norse, to hear what inspired her to get involved.

"This year I've chosen to focus on my health and wellbeing. Taking part in the Public Sector Challenge gives me a positive and structured way to rebuild my strength, improve my fitness and regain confidence in my body.

"This challenge represents something I can control and choose to be a part of. It's not just about physical fitness, it's about reclaiming a sense of strength, resilience and enjoyment in life again."

We're proud to support the Public Sector Challenge, bringing colleagues together to improve their health and wellbeing while raising money for two incredible charities alongside partners from across the public sector.

Good luck to Cat and the rest of Team Norse as they prepare to take on the challenge.

Confined spaces can hide serious risks.

Oxygen deficiency, toxic gases, and restricted access aren't always visible, which is why ensuring your team is properly trained is essential.

On 9 and 10 September, Fast Lane Training Services will deliver the City & Guilds 6160-09 Level 2 Award in Entrant and Entry Controller for Confined Spaces (Medium Risk), helping delegates develop the practical skills and knowledge needed to work safely.

Make sure your team is prepared.

The countdown is on until Team Norse takes on this year's Run Norwich.

We caught up with Abi Grand, Personal Assistant to the Directors, to hear why she's returning to one of Norwich's most popular events.

"I decided to sign up as part of the Norse running group because it's such a good local event and the atmosphere is always great. It's nice to be part of something that brings so many people together.

"What am I looking forward to most? Probably the refreshments afterwards! Although it will also be nice to catch up with other Norse employees and see familiar faces around the course."

Having taken part several times before, Abi knows first-hand what makes Run Norwich so special, from the atmosphere on the streets to the sense of community at the finish line.

We're proud to support Run Norwich, organised by the Community Sports Foundation, an iconic event that brings thousands of people together from across Norfolk and beyond.

Team Norse is proud to support the Public Sector Challenge Earth, Mynd and Shire, raising vital funds for Cancer Research UK and the British Heart Foundation.

We spoke to Michael Garman, Technician at n-able, about why he's taking on this year's challenge.

"It's something I've always wanted to do. I've either never had the opportunity, or I've talked myself out of it, believing I couldn't do it. I feel that if I don't do it now, I never will.

"Because my brother had cancer when he was very young, I've always wanted to support cancer charities wherever I could, as I know the valuable support they provide to families going through it."

To get ready for the challenge, Michael has been keeping active through football, basketball and, perhaps most importantly, running around after his children.

For many of our team, including Michael, this challenge is about much more than crossing the finish line. It's about supporting causes that have made a difference to their lives and helping others who need it most.
