Our postgraduate Initial Teacher Education (ITE) provision is one of the largest in the country and has been rated as 'outstanding' by Ofsted (2014). We offer a range of teacher training routes across the primary and secondary phases, emphasising practical school-based training, supported by a thorough introduction to established and current educational theory and thinking. Our school is research-
led, with our research informing our teaching, and the quality of this work is widely recognised. We work with a range of schools across the region; our Initial Teacher Education courses are highly rated locally and a high proportion of our beginning teachers go on to work in partner schools each year. Upon successful completion of our teacher training courses, you will achieve:
1) A Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with 60 masters level credits and
2) Qualified Teacher Status by meeting Teacher Standards.
