Man Hei Abbie Li, BA (Hons) Animation

During my study in Nottingham Trent University, I have explored hand-drawn and puppet rigged animation, storyboarding and experimental animation. In my final year, I want to try something new and widen my animation skills, my final year works will be explored more on 2D special effects (fire, magic element, water) and some gameplay animation. After completing my study in NTU, I would like to pursue my animation skills in character acting and special effects, or may be do some 3D too!

Amber Minton-Westhead, BA (Hons) Design for Theatre and Live Performance

Since studying BA(H) Design for Theatre & Live Performance i’ve developed experience within construction, scenic painting and also puppetry. Overall I’ve gained a passion for puppet making and performing, as well as costume designs as I enjoy the process of creating characters with small impactful details, catering to stories. I’d like to continue my practice by designing for small intimate shows within communities and bringing puppetry to life through many forms such as shadow and hand to parade puppets.

Fashion Knitwear Design & Knitted Textiles student Amy Shepherd-Bowman brings colour, pattern, and personal memory into her final project, Taste From A Certain Place.

Inspired by her childhood home and a love of bold interiors, her collection combines bright jacquards, pleating, and stripes across modern menswear silhouettes with sustainability at its core through the use of dead-stock and sponsored yarns.

Francis Varley, BA (Hons) Games Art

My project We That Remain is a single player tabletop role-playing game that uses illustration to visually describe a lonely industrial world in which withered automata explore an endless brutalist megastructure, examining themes of loneliness and architectural abandonment. I have been working on using artwork to visually describe the imaginative worlds within role-playing games, and have worked collaboratively to create role-playing game material of a variety of tones and themes. After graduating I hope to continue this work, creating my own games independently with the ultimate goal of being able to work in the industry in a freelance capacity.

Tabitha Easterbrook, BA (Hons) Creative Direction and Curation for Fashion

"I enjoy exploring gothic glamour, maximalism, eccentricity and unconventionality. I have always had an interest in the details and how every element adds to the final piece, I think this resonates in the people I collaborate with. Their skills lead to the final result and help push a concept organically. The images I’ve chosen are from my project Damned if you do, damned if you don’t… which visualises multiple women’s ‘ideal world’ if they could escape from reality. I have also chosen an image from another project ‘Illusion of a Bride’ which presents bridal couture in a subverted way. I hope to continue collaborating and bringing my ideas to fruition after I graduate."

Heather Anderson, BA (Hons) Fashion Design

"For my project Animal Instincts this led me to work with leather, developing a sculptural body-armour to protect women. The process of working with leather gave me a new approach to pattern cutting, encouraging creative problem solving. As well as technical making I have also gained strong design and CAD skills which awarded me first runner up in the Paul Smith x NTU design competition. After graduating I am interested in pursuing a career working in an atelier or as a garment technologist or product developer."

Sophie Payne, BA (Hons) Photography

"My final project explores the idea of self-reflection, bringing together individual clothing choices and locations selected by each model. I enjoy creating a collaborative process, allowing my subjects to have a role in shaping the outcome, placing them at the centre of the work. This collaborative process allows my subject to move naturally as they are in an environment they are familiar with, enabling me to capture both their personal style and identity in one. Once I have graduated, I would like to work in assisting more photographers alongside continuing my freelance work. My long-term goal is to obtain a career in commercial photography, specialising in the production of advertising imagery."
